Official Statement from DAC 1904 Regarding Participation in European Competitions for the 2025/26 Season

Dear supporters, partners, and friends,

We hereby inform you that, based on UEFA’s decision concerning multi-club ownership (MCO), DAC 1904 Dunajská Streda is not permitted to participate in the qualifying rounds of the 2025/26 UEFA Europa Conference League—despite having earned that right through our sporting achievements.

We received this decision with disappointment, but we want to assure everyone that the club has done everything in its power to defend its rightful place on the international stage.

DAC and ETO FC Győr are two separate legal and economic entities, each operating through foundations led by different beneficiaries—Oszkár Világi for DAC and Réka Világi for ETO. The operation of both clubs is governed by strict legal regulations and separation mechanisms, which were established after the acquisition of ETO—and well before UEFA’s official deadline of March 1, 2025—in preparation for such a scenario.

Once it became clear that both clubs were in a clear position to qualify for the UEFA Conference League, DAC 1904 proactively engaged with UEFA to demonstrate the systems in place that guarantee independence and integrity. However, UEFA launched an investigation, during which it questioned the independence of decision-making based on the family relationship between the two clubs—and ultimately decided that our club may not participate in the competition.

According to UEFA regulations (Article 5.02), if two or more clubs fail to meet the integrity requirements for multi-club ownership, only one may participate, based on the following order of precedence:

  • The club qualified for the higher-tier UEFA competition;
  • The club with the higher placement in its domestic league;
  • The club belonging to the national association ranked higher in UEFA’s coefficients.

Based on these rules, UEFA designated ETO as the participant.

While we acknowledge UEFA’s role in safeguarding the integrity of its competitions, we firmly believe that this decision is both legally and factually flawed. Therefore, our club is submitting an official appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne.

Despite this—and perhaps even because of it—we are preparing for the upcoming season with even greater determination. Our goal remains to build a stronger club, develop young talent, and proudly represent our city, community, and colors.

We thank everyone for their support, trust, and affection. DAC is our shared cause.

Hajrá, DAC!
