The 31-year-old Ukrainian expert, who also works as an assistant to national team head coach Rebrov, is the new reinforcement of our club´s sports department.
Important change in the structure of DAC: the 31-year-old Ukrainian Gleb Platov is our club´s new Sporting Director. Marek Zahorčák, who was appointed as our club’s Technical Director in December 2022, left his position and will continue to work in the scouting department and his responsibilities will also include the focus on international relations.
Despite his young age Gleb Platov, born is Kiev (on November 20, 1991), already held several important functions in the past. At the age of 23, he started to work for Dynamo Kiev as an assistant coach for the under-19 and under-21 youth teams and was meanwhile the assistant-analyst for the first team, which was managed by Serhiy Rebrov then. He also played a major role in two league titles and with his contribution the team qualified for the knockout stage of the Champions League again after almost twenty years.
He worked in the ASPIRE Academy in Qatar from October 2017 to the summer of 2020, which serves as a centralized academy for all Qatar national teams, from students to adults including. In 2018, he worked as an assistant besides the Olympic team of Qatar. The coaching staff prepared the team for the Asian Cup and participated in the competition. During the mentioned period, at the age of 28, he finished the highest coaching degree and acquired the UEFA Pro license.
During the season 2020/21 he worked as the assistant of Vicente Gomes Fernandes at the Azeri club FK Sabah.
At the age of 29, he became one of the youngest Sporting Directors of the best 15 European leagues, when he worked two seasons at Dnipro-1. The club finished on the podium in both seasons, and last year they qualified for the group stage, later also to the knockout stage of the European Conference League.
Since June this year, he works as assistant of the head coach, Serhiy Rebrov for the Ukrainian senior national team. He keeps this position also during his stage at DAC.

Above all, I would like to help the club with the knowledge and experience I have acquired during my past positions. I have known the situation of the club and the local project for several years, we have been communicating with Jan Van Daele for a long time, and I have even visited the town personally several times in the past. The project and the people working on it made a very strong impression on me. All of them are extremely dedicated and talented, full of ideas, which, together with the wonderful infrastructure, hold a serious potential and give the club hope for an excellent future vision. I will try to contribute to make the club´s development curve even stronger,” said the new Sporting Director of DAC.
As it is known, Jan Van Daele held officially the function of Sporting Director until now, while there was also a Technical Director in place. As the position of Technical Director cease to exist, Jan continues to fulfill his daily duties as the Executive Director of our club.
„Last year in December we created the position of Technical Director to develop the club and its organization. If we were to realize the demanding vision of the club’s stakeholders, which is to win prizes, participate in UEFA Group Stages and to be the best club in the region in youth development, we are forced to professionalize further. The Scouting and Analysis Departments were under the lead of the Technical Director. After an internal evaluation of the last months, we felt it was in the club’s best interest to replace the Technical Director with a different profile which we found in Gleb. Gleb is a young but already very experienced professional. His strong points are methodology, coaching education, youth development, scouting and analysis which I believe can be beneficial for development of the entire sportive department of the club,” explained Jan Van Daele.
